1. A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read

For this, I could choose so many, mainly from my friend Jaz (@TravelsinFiction) because we have a very different taste in books, so we’re always telling each other to read books we’ve just discovered, in the hope the other won’t hate them. Recently, she’s been telling me to read Bear Town, and I’ve heard so many good things from other people as well, that I know I should pick it up!

2. A book that’s been on your TBR forever and yet you still haven’t picked it up

There are SO many I could pick for this! (This year, I’m trying to #beatthebacklist so I will be attempting to read as many books, that I already own and haven’t read, as possible!) But one which I really have neglected is Neil Gaiman’s Norse Mythology. I was so excited when I bought this almost a year ago, and somehow I still haven’t managed to pick it up!! Hopefully I will soon though.

3. A book in a series you’ve started, but haven’t gotten round to finishing yet

I read the first book in the Millennium trilogy, probably about 5 years ago now, and I still haven’t read the other two. And it’s not even that I didn’t enjoy The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, I think it’s more that it got a little intense towards the end, and as someone who scares very easily, I’m just a little apprehensive about what will happen in the other two…

4. A classic you’ve always liked the sound of, but never actually read

The Colour Purple! I had a friend in school who absolutely loved this book, and I have a really nice hardback edition of it, so I know that I should get round to reading it, it just hasn’t happened yet!

5. A popular book that it seems everyone but you has read

Probably Children of Blood and Bone. As someone who uses Instagram a lot, I see this books EVERYWHERE. But also, as someone who doesn’t tend to like YA, I always steered clear of it because I don’t think I’d enjoy it. At the same time though, it’s nice to have an opinion of something, even if it turns out to be a negative one, so maybe I should just pick up a copy and give it a go!

6. A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but you just haven’t read it yet

I love Big Little Lies, and after finding out that it was a book, I was kind of gutted I didn’t read that before I watched it. However, there’s always huge differences between books and their adaptations, so it might still be worth reading to see how the author intended the story to unfold.

7. A book you see all over Instagram but haven’t picked up yet

This one would have to be Donna Tartt’s The Secret History. I know I’ll love the book, and I’ve been meaning to read it for ages, but I haven’t quite got around the buying myself a copy, so until I do, I guess I’ll just have to enjoy everyone else’s pictures of it on Instagram.

Hope you enjoyed my answers to all these questions, and feel free to take part even if I haven’t tagged you!
